Bag Me One of Those

Just two GREAT examples from our groups Bag Me One of Those project, which was completed in just shy of TWO hours, isn't that amazing!

The rules are:

1. You're not allowed to say no, everyone does the same activities, even if you find them really hard.
2. You have a go at EVERY activity set.
3. Try to work within the time limits set.
4. Only make positive comments about other's work.

And what a great job our REALISE participants did, some fantastic self portraits from memory along with some kind adjectives, strong literacy work and an all round positive group vibe!

Nice one gang, see you later on for our next installment!

Bag Project

On Friday last week, the group was set a challenge... We were all going to do a burst (one session) project together. The rules are that everyone is to complete the same tasks within the same time limit and that noone is allowed to say no or I'm not doing that.

Sounds pretty hard right? And you are correct it is a challenge but our REALISE group members got through it and produced these AMAZING bags as seen in the previous photo post! Well done guys and gals!

Not only that but we could identify individual skills and techniques that had been used and recognize the value of practicing these! Brill!

Next week... Me But Better!

Week two: Completed Work!

Week two has been and gone and we have got lots of FANTASTIC completed Visual Maps of Me and some fabulous reflection to go with it... Well done guys!

Remember to be collecting clothes and props for the photography project: Bring them in asap and we will store them at Archway.

Coming up this week:- Bags, blogs, Artsaward, Paints and pastels & PANCAKES!!!!

The Blogspot

Here is a picture of our newly created 'Blogspot' where you can go and update your blog with all of the bits and bobs you have been doing in sessions. You can upload pictures, audio and video to your blogs as well as typing up text such a stories, poems, or pros.

You might even choose to complete whole pieces of work on your blog, for example during reflection or research time. Your blogs are an invaluable tool for both this project and also for your Bronze ArtsAward so try to keep on top of them with at least weekly posts! If you have more to say, then good for you!

Likes/Dislikes

As part of our 'Getting to Know You' session we discussed the groups likes and dislikes, making these mind maps as a reference.

Week One

What a fantastic time we have had in our first week of REALISE Spring 2012!

14 New starters all keen to get going and moving on have all set up blogs, created a first post and started a Visual Map of Me and that's not even considering all meeting each other, sharing lunch together (yummy jackets, thanks Lea!)and finding out all about the project.

Phewee I'm exhausted just thinking about it!

Can't wait to see how the Visual Maps turn out next week, I'm looking forward to Wednesday already!

Hope you all had fun too!

Day One!

Today is the start of the Spring 2012 REALISE programme and we have got lots of young people heading down to Archway this afternoon for their initial induction to the project and to meet everyone involved.

The good news: I'm REALLY thrilled about meeting everyone and can't wait to get started on the new project. We have so many exciting things to be doing over the next ten weeks together so that we can have fun, learn, earn an ArtsAward and hopefully move onto other things on completion!

The bad news: I have a broken foot so can't really get about too well. This means I'm probably going to have to sit down a lot and miss out on the trips. BUT I am not going to let it dampen my spirits too much...Just be careful you don't stand on it!!!

See you in a few hours :)
